Carved from red cedar, the Kuusamo Puukala is a legendary pike lure. This wobbler is handcrafted in Finland from start to finish. The lure makers first turn the body on a lathe and then paint the Puukala with fish-catching finishes. Our current collection includes decades-old classic colors as well as some fresher patterns.

The Kuusamo Puukala swims with a delicate, small ticking action like a skittish baitfish. That’s what irritates pike — especially if you remember to add a few pauses during the retrieve. Then it imitates a small fish unaware of the lurking pike. You can adjust the Puukala’s swimming action by setting the diving lip to different positions.

Above all, the Puukala is a signature-action lure. If you don’t want to just reel it in, you can give it your own swimming style by working the rod. In addition to pike, the Kuusamo Puukala also catches big perch. As a special mention: the Finnish record perch, weighing 2.8 kg, was caught in Åland with a Puukala.
