A weedless lure is needed when fish retreat into the shelter of reeds and lilies. This usually happens when the water level rises. Rising water practically draws the fish into shallow shores.

That’s where pike love to hunt. With its camouflage pattern, it blends well into the vegetation and makes sudden strikes at small fish. Aquatic plants, however, are a challenge for anglers — regular lures get covered in weeds right away, and then predators won’t strike them.

This Professor model has a special weedless hook, where metal whiskers protect the hook from vegetation. When the pike strikes the lure, the “whiskers” fold down and the needle-sharp hooks bite into the predator’s jaws.
