Drop Shad is a small baitfish-imitating “dead-action jig,” meaning its own swimming motion is very subtle.

These types of jigs excel in cold-water fishing: perch readily strike jigs with minimal self-action early in spring and late in autumn. Drop Shad is also excellent for winter fishing when paired with a jig head.

Its effectiveness comes from its sensitive, lifelike body shape, which with small rod lifts and twitches makes the lure dart about like a startled baitfish.

Works well in bottom-line jigging with a standard jig head and is especially effective when rigged dropshot-style.

Recommended hook size: starting from size 1.
